Pierson-Cuvelier: Brut Prestige

[English] Drunk in april 2011. A light color with some green and quite agressive sparkle. In the scent: white flowers, citrus fruit and cheap yeast. The taste is mainly floral and reminiscent of cava. It burns in the throat. There is also an unpleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. About 22 euro. [NL] Gedronken in April

Vollereaux: Rosé de Saignée

[English] Drunk in octobre 2009. Made of 100% Pinot Meunier. Cherry red color with refined sparkle and nice mousse. Strange, “artisanal” scent. I smell strawberry with mainly  mushroom, black truffle and some musty earthtones. The taste is very full with a tannic texture in the mouth. I taste red fruits like raspberry, blackberry and strawberry.

Thienot: Brut

[English] Made of 35% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier and 45% Chardonnay. Light golden color with refined sparkle. In the scent: mainly peach, pineapple, pea, brioche and cornflakes. The texture is silky and the taste is fruity and well balanced. In the reasonable long aftertaste you’ll get some creamyness. It’s just a little too sweet

Krug: Grande Cuvée

[English] Degorgement date unknown. Made with 50% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier and 35% Chardonnay. Nice golden color with not a lot of bubbles. Very full, interesting scent of citrus fruit, mint, peer and yeast. After a while I smell mushroom and coconut. The taste is very fresh with mainly citrus fruit but also bitter

Moët & Chandon: Dom Pérignon 1996

[English] Made of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. Lightgolden color with quite impetuous sparkle and nice mousse. The scent is interesting but not an explosion of aromas: lovely sweet yeast, earthtones, minerals, woodland mushrooms and strawberry. After a while the strawberry scent disappeared and we smelled crème patissière, cake and even some mint. We

[English] Made of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. Light golden color with small bubbles that don’t last long. In the scent: pear, toast, liquorice, pepper and some creamy cheese.
