Pertois-Lebrun: Nuances (2013)

100% Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs Grand Cru vineyards
Dosage: 4 g/l

This champagne has a yellow golden color with very fine bubbles and a lot of mousse but also nice tears on the glass. The nose is elegant and complex with red Reinette apple, yellow cherry, blueberry, white flowers, walnut oil, rhubarb tart and fruit pie with pineapple and kiwi. After a while in the glass it gets richer with clementine, peach, nectarine, popcorn, lanoline and lard. The attack is fresh with crisp citrus fruits, apple followed by voloptuous candied citrus, canteloupe melon, vine peach and a hint of butter cream. On the mid palate you get yellow grape fruit bitterness and delicate yeasty notes. The finish is long with mild acidity of Meyerlemon, mandarin orange, biscuits, soft toast and delicate yeasts. This delicous wine pairs lovely with escargots au champagne or cheeses like St Nectaire or a young Comté fruité.
