100% Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs Grand Cru vineyards
Dosage: 3,5 g/l
This wine has a light straw color with very fine bubbles and a creamy mousse. On the nose you get lemon with zest, ripe granny smith, reinette red apple, white pistolet bread roll and banana chips and pepernoot confectionery and a hint of nutmeg. Swirling the glass shows rose grapefruit, jasmine, daisies, a hint of camomile, citrus essential oil, bergamot and chalky overtones. After a longer while in the glass it become richer and more “gourmand” of style showing candied lemon, cocoa butter, pistaccio cream and fig. In the mouth, the attack is very soft and immediately leads to a dynamic mousse with saline notes followed by grapefruit, candied citrus, green and red apples, pomelo and fig. The finish is long with lovely clean acidity of citrus, a hint of mangosteen, biscuits with salt, chalky minerality and a hint of blonde tobacco. This is the entry level wine of Pertois-Lebrun but very impressive indeed!
