Made of 66% Pinot Meunier, 17% Pinot Noir and 17% Chardonnay. Harvest 2014. 2 grams of dosage. First nose is very yeasty with bakery yeast, sourdough and overtones of Boskoop, red apples and apple fritter with a hint of brett gueuze beer and mushrooms shining through. With some air you get unripe mirabel plums, cinnamon, honey, gingerbread and golden raisins together with a hint of sea breeze. The mouthfeel is dry and the wine misses a bit of body and concentration. The attack on the palate is dry and a bit plain and goes into fresh apples, mushrooms and On the mid palate you get orange marmelade with whisky and caramelized carrots. The finish is medium long and dry with warm tones of dried onion, turmeric, tobacco and fresh tones of lemon with pith and white pepper. This is maybe not the best companion for haut cuisine but very nice as an aperitif on a hot summer day. La Clé des Sept Arpents is the entry level cuvée. It does show the house style quality but Vibrato is the true standout from the range.
