Made of 100% Pinot Meunier from vintage 2011. No dosage. Lovely golden color with a fine effervescence. Rich nose of patisserie with frangipane, acacia flowers, delicious mirabelles de Nancy plums, dried apricot, blueberry, quetsch plum, seasalt, cheesecake and silex minerality. After a short while it showed leather and hay with a lovely autolytic warmth and earthiness. The mouthfeel is vinous and structured and surprisingly doesn’t feel too dry at all. On the palate you get the lovely mirabelles from the nose, acacia honey, apricot jelly, quince, salted caramel, sweet pastry and a luxurious hint of white truffle. The finish is long with stone fruit acidity, earthiness, blond tobacco and young comté cheese. Delicious Meunier perfect to drink as stand-alone or with a tartiflette with some freshly grated truffle. Highly recommended.
