C.H. Piconnet: Blanc de Noirs

100% Pinot Noir from harvest 2014. It has a dosage of 8 grams. Light golden color with a red hue and a delicate, refined effervescence. Very typical Pinot Noir on the nose redcurrant, violettes, red peaches, melon, licorice, blood orange, and a hint of shoe polish. After a while it showed more pineapple and the shoe polish faded and the fruit was more expressive. In the mouth this is very pleasant and has nice dynamics. On the palate you get again redcurrant, some blueberry, blood orange and grapefruit with citrus zests, gingerbread, sultanas and a warmth of dried shallot onions on the mid palate. The finish is medium long and has raw hazelnut and an almost slate-like minerality. Pinot Noir pur sang. Don’t drink it too cold. Recommended.
