C.H. Piconnet: 3 cépages

Made of 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Blanc and 25% Chardonnay. Harvest 2014 and about 9 grams of dosage. Very light golden color with a delicate effervescence. On the nose you get ripe pear, charentais melon, soft yeasts, coconut juice, sponge cake, blood orange, acerola, starfruit and elderflower. After a long time in the glass came young mirabelle plum, mirin vinigar and a faint hint of cherry. The attack is a bit flat. The overall palate misses a bit harmony and tension but still delivers enough pleasure for me. The palate has a faint attack and is quite retro-olfactive but misses some depth and zing. On the mid-palate it has salted caramel and pears. The finish is very nice and long with roasted almonds, hazelnutcreme, rhubarb, a light smokey minerality and crunchy nashi pear. Not terribly complex but pleasant and I certainly would drink it again.
