This young winemaker got my attention in my search for interesting Bouzy rouge wine. In 2016 they had their first organic certified harvest. The Blanc de Noirs is evidently 100% Pinot Noir from Bouzy. Lovely light golden color with red hue – typical for Pinot Noir – and a refined effervescence. On the nose you get apricot, rosehip, freshly ground coffee beans, maraschino cherry and slate. After a while in the glass you get bramble berry and ripe nectarine. The mouthfeel is rich and structured. On the palate you get baked apple with honey, forest berries, gingerbread and tobacco. It has such a pleasant (or call it friendly) acidity. The finish shows a masculin Bollinger-like toastiness and distinctive dried forest fruits.
