Princier, Achille: Grand Art

[English] Made of 50% chardonnays and 50% pinot noir. Light golden yellow colour, wild mousse, frothy sparkle that quickly disappears. Almost no nose. Extremely light tones of dominating honey, with some beer yeast, citrus, yellow raisins, artichoke juice, and alcohol. Mouthfeel is far too sharp. Flavours of industrial strawberry jam, yeast, mashed potatoes, and biting oxalic

Princier, Achille: Rosé

[English] Salmon rose with copper tones, exuberant mousse that quickly turns into a pitiful sparkle. Tenuous, flat nose of cooked strawberry, cranberry, algae, yeast, and tones of minerality like lime and cement. The aggressive acidity translates into an unpleasantly sharp mouthfeel, with only hints of red fruit and citrus as primary flavours. Aftertaste was medium+

Mont-Hauban: Cuvée 3 Cépages

Mont-Hauban has asked (and threatened to bring us to court should we not comply) to remove this review. They also promised us to send new bottles for a retaste. We didn’t get any response lately… [English] Made of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier and 30% Pinot Noir. Light yellow color with large bulky bubbles remind me

Fée d’Arlette: Aliénor

[English] Made of 100% Pinot Noir. Lightgolden color with non-elegant sparkle and hardly any mousse. The scent reminds me of a cheap Sauvignon Blanc wine. After swirling I smell non-ripe pear with a low quality yeast. The texture is flat and not mouthfilling. I taste citrusfruit, pear and cheap yeast. The aftertaste is slightly nervous

Veuve J. Lanaud: Carte Blanche

[English] Made of 17% Pinot Noir, 17% Pinot Meunier and 66% Chardonnay. Lightgolden color with refined sparkle. In the scent: apple, quince, raw mushroom and fern. The texture is mouthfilling. The taste is bizar with citrusfruit, humus and yeast. Not well balanced. The aftertaste is musty with cheese lacking freshness. Not recommended. About 19 euro.

Beaumet: Brut

Made of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. Light yellow color with rays of green. Extremely aggressive bubbles that produce a lot of foam. I get a stinging sensation in my nose and the smell of the wine’s yeast is unpleasant. There’s also a secondary chalk aroma. The taste isn’t particularly interesting

Beaufort, Herbert: Rosé

[English] This is a Rosé de Saignée (made of 100% macerated Pinot Noir). Cherry red color with nice small bubbles. I smell strawberries; sour cherries; a little bit of toast… and a very disturbing plastic aroma. It tastes like grenadine lemonade with a very artificial, musty taste, and there’s the texture of chaudfontaine water and

Pierson-Cuvelier: Brut Prestige

[English] Drunk in april 2011. A light color with some green and quite agressive sparkle. In the scent: white flowers, citrus fruit and cheap yeast. The taste is mainly floral and reminiscent of cava. It burns in the throat. There is also an unpleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. About 22 euro. [NL] Gedronken in April
