Beaufort, Herbert: La Favorite 2004

[English] Made of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Caution, there’s a lot of pressure in these bottles! A golden color with nice, small bubbles. [English] This is a Rosé de Saignée (made of 100% macerated Pinot Noir). Cherry red color with nice small bubbles. [English] Drank in May 2010.This Blanc de Blancs is quite an interesting champagne. A typical yellow chardonnay color with small bead. I smell apple, cooked pears, lemon, some toast and a hint of butter. The taste is interesting: tropical fruit like lychee and pineapple, with a modest aftertaste of hazelnuts. The finish is quite short.

I smell pomelo, grapefruit, a lot of yeast and a hint of brioche. The taste is hard with annoying acidity that also appears in the aftertaste. Not recommended. Price is
